Frasier bosses have paid tribute to Nicholas Lyndhurst’s son, Archie, at the end of the reboot’s first episode, following his death in 2020.
The young So Awkward star, who followed his father into acting, was found dead at his home in London, at the age of 19.
It was later confirmed that he died from a brain hemorrhage caused by acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
In a poignant move, Archie was honored during the premiere of Frasier, which arrived on Paramount+ today, starring Nicholas, Kelsey Grammer and Jack Cutmore-Scott.
Before the credits rolled, a message briefly appeared on screen, dedicating the scenes to the late star, as well as former Frasier script supervisor Gabrielle James, and John Mahoney, who played the iconic Martin Crane on the original series.
It said: ‘In loving memory of Gabrielle James and Archie Lyndhurst.’
This was followed by a separate video showing John – who died aged 77 in 2018 – in Frasier’s old apartment, smiling as he declared: ‘It all works out.’
Archie was the only son of Nicholas and Lucy Lyndhurst, who tied the knot in 1999.
The CBBC star had followed in his dad’s footsteps, breaking into acting at an early age.
He starred as Ollie Coulton in the CBeebies series So Awkward, which began in 2015, while also starring alongside Jack Whitehall in Little Crackers and Bad Education.
Following the tragic news of his death, Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas said in a short statement: ‘Lucy and I are utterly grief stricken and respectfully request privacy.’
